Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you....

poop! I've never been so happy to see poop as I was Saturday afternoon. Finally. After a chat with the advice nurse on Friday night we decided to start Isabel on prune puree Saturday morning. It was time to switch to a new food anyway, so it might as well be prunes. We're not sure if the prunes were working their magic or if it was just a coincidence. Either way, she really likes prunes. We've worked our way up to 1 tablespoon, and she cries when the bowl is empty! When we have our next well baby check-up in a few weeks we'll ask her doctor about adding prune puree or prune juice to her meals to help keep things flowing.

Saturday we went to a welcome party for a new professor in the anthropology department. We were so proud of Isabel. She fussed just a few times and just for a few seconds at a time. No meltdowns but smiles most of the night. She was passed around a bit and was mostly fine with the other folks holding her. At one point she even fell asleep while Ryan was holding her. She hasn't slept in our arms for months, so it was nice to see that again. We got her home, fed and in bed at a decent hour to avoid any real over tiredness. She was her normal, great self.

Last night we had a bit of a gas issue at bedtime. Every once in a while she'll start crying about an hour after she's gone to bed. Usually her eyes stay closed, but she's crying like nobody's business. An hour, a few big burps and some comfort nursing later she was back to sleep and slept through the night - a total of 9 hours. This morning she was all smiles.
