Update, Update, Update

We had our weight check last Thursday. Isabel has gained 12 oz. in the past month. She's on the right track, so we just need to keep doing what we're doing. Her doc would like her at 10th percentile (she bumped up from below the line to about 3rd), but realizes both her parents are thin so it's not a huge deal if she doesn't make it. The main concerns are enough calories and fat for her brain development. We can't wait to get her off pediasure. Not only does it create horrible poops, but after dinner she is wound up from the sugar content. She's happy to walk circles around the house for an extra hour. It takes a normal bedtime from 6:30/7:00 to 8:30. Unacceptable. We cut pediasure out of her milk for dinner last night and she had a more normal bedtime. I think we'll continue to do that and see how it works out.

We headed to the anthro department picnic last Friday. Thankfully there was a 15-month-old boy for her to play with. She hasn't been around another baby since her birthday. There were also lots of aunties and even a dog! She was a very happy camper. Saturday was play date with Ripley at the zoo. We didn't stay inside the zoo for very long. It was more fun to cruise around the park. Isabel took Ripley's toy, but this time Ripley crawled after her and took it back! Yay for Ripley. Isabel wasn't upset, she just moved on to something else. It was fun for the kids to hang out together and fun for the grown-ups as well.

This weekend we have a birthday party to go to on Saturday for one of Isabel's friends and then the following week a play date for Ripley's birthday. Lots to do kidwise and schoolwise.

Her naps aren't as easy as they used to be for some reason. I'm hoping it's just a phase like it always seems to be. Lots of screaming and crying. Her newest thing is a love for turning book pages. She pretty much needs a book in her crib as she falls asleep. Sometimes instead of napping she'll sit quietly in her crib for 30 minutes or more just flipping pages. Try and take the book away and you've opened a huge can of worms. I'm just happy she's getting some down time.
