Busy had her weight check last Friday. She came in at 19 lbs 8.5 oz. That's just under what the doctor was looking for, but she said it was a good weight anyway. We're supposed to keep doing what we've been doing, which is adding a lot more peanut butter and feeding her way more often. She has three meals a day, but instead of 2 snacks she grazes throughout the day now. And, we've upped her Pediasure which is good for her and unpleasant for anyone who changes a diaper. Her next appointment is her 18-month well-baby check in October.
Today we bought a new piece of furniture for her room. Even though we bought the crib and dresser because of her, I consider this the first piece of furniture we bought for her. She LOVES it, and it is just perfect for her.
She's picking up a lot more ASL signs lately, like socks, mouse and mom. She also makes sounds to match shoes, socks, mom, dad, and probably a few more I can't remember. It's getting hard to keep track of the new things she's doing. And, she has a new friend to add to her list. A few weeks ago we met a woman and her 17-month-old daughter at the zoo. They, along with the husband/father, just moved here from Israel for his job. Since they don't know too many people yet I've arranged a few playdates so they can meet the other moms & babies. The daughter is just a doll and only understands Hebrew for now. It's a good thing they are still young enough to communicate by other means. All the babies seem to get along well, so we're happy we met them.
