Independence Day Weekend

As for most, it was a long weekend here as well. Ryan got home early-ish Friday and doesn't go back until some time tomorrow. He is also leaving for another training gig in L.A. tomorrow, but he'll be home Friday morning, so not too bad. We didn't do too much this weekend - mostly got caught up on household stuff like grocery shopping and cleaning.
Friday morning we had a play date with one of Isabel's friends - the only boy in the group. They played a bit together, but each was interested in his or her own adventure. Saturday is a blurr. Sunday we visited my sister & her family for a bit before heading home and staying in for the night. Since Busy has been mostly down to one nap during the day she's going to be a bit earlier than what had become normal. She's now down around 6:30 again. That makes it a bit hard to watch fireworks after dark. But, that's okay with us. I was able to make Busy a little purse from start to finish in one day.

Today Ryan and I were able to leave childless for a nice lunch and a movie. Our regular babysitter was able to come over at the last minute so we can head to the movies before another week or more passes. Busy just loves the sitter so I always feel comfortable leaving. When we got back it was as if Busy was possessed. She was chattering and laughing and running around the house. Really hysterical. Since it's independence weekend, we thought we'd give her a little independence at the dinner table. She ate corn right off the cob tonight - and LOVED it.
