3 already?

Where has the time gone?  I can't believe she is 3 already.  She's turning into quite the big kid lately.  She no longer in diapers or pull-ups during the day.  Hooray!  That doesn't mean she is accident free yet, but she's working on it.  So far she has proven to be a little difficult to motivate, and we're seeing that with the potty, too.  Basically we haven't found her currency yet.  We're all working toward the same goal, we're just going about it in different ways.

She's also in a toddler bed now.  Ryan took the front off her crib so she has full access to the house whenever she wants.  The first two nights were great and so easy.  The past few nights have been a little difficult.  One night she grabbed a few wipes, closed all the upstairs doors and started cleaning them.  This was about an hour and half after bed time.  It was pretty darn cute, but these late nights will catch up to her soon.  The night she cleaned she didn't go to bed until a little after nine, but woke up at 6 the next morning.  Hopefully she figures it out sooner rather than later, but I'm not holding my breath.

The day of her actual birthday was great.  My folks took us all out to lunch and the servers sang Happy Birthday to Biz.  She loved it.  She behaved so well the entire day.  I was very proud of her.  You can tell she really likes being 3.  After dinner and presents we had birthday cupcakes.  Ryan and I knew what we were getting ourselves into feeding her cupcakes at 6 pm, but figured it was worth it.  Of course that was an easy point to forget when she kept getting out of bed that night (the same night as cleaning the doors).  It's fun to watch her mind at work and hear all of the reasons she comes up with for getting out of bed.  She's a creative kid for sure.

Her party is Saturday afternoon followed by our neighbor's birthday party.  She is so looking forward to a few friends and her cousins coming over to play.  We have a game and a take and make craft planned plus a Minnie Mouse cake to stick with the Mickey/Minnie theme.  This year we're keeping the guest list small again with just some family and a few neighbors.  We're all looking forward to it. When our party is over we will all make our way next door for the other party.  It's nice to have neighbors who are also friends.
